Put on your hiking boots
In Purmerend, you can not only enjoy city walks; the town also has a beautiful forest where you can take lovely walks. The Purmerbos is ideal for shorter walks of 1.5 to 5 km and it is largely a dog-free zone, so your four-legged friend can just come along. For families, there are fun routes such as the Kabouterpad and the Phoenixroute. Want a longer walk? Then choose the Stellingroute, where you not only have a beautiful view of the Beemster polder, but also pass several forts of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. Two World Heritage Sites in one walk!
