The Oostzanerveld is a unique peat meadow landscape that looks much like a patchwork quilt from above. Hundreds of small patches in various shades of green separated by a tangle of ditches and canals. A canoe or boat trip through Oostzanerveld offers a serene experience in the middle of nature, as you paddle through narrow waterways to discover a vast peat landscape full of reeds, bird calls and floral displays. It is a peaceful escape, perfect for nature lovers and adventurers!

Gemeente Oostzaan is part of the region Laag Holland. Laag Holland is a unique piece of real Holland above the North Sea Canal. This unique former national landscape is characterised by its unique location below sea level.
