The Oostzanerveld
North of Oostzaan is peat meadow area the Oostzanerveld. Oostzanerveld is a pearl in an urban environment. Here, people and animals enjoy the hundreds of islands and many ditches in peace and quiet.... And that under the smoke of Amsterdam!

The Ilperveld
Between Landsmeer, Den Ilp and the Noordhollandsch Kanaal lies the Ilperveld. Hundreds of islands of peat, meadow windmills, whistling (meadow) birds and grazing cattle characterise this unique peat meadow area.

The Zeevang
Centuries ago, Zeevang was caught by the sea. Around the 13th century, the area was reclaimed, creating a lovely lowland stretching north of Edam. Zeevang offers peace and space alongside the hustle and bustle of Edam and Volendam.
The Purmer forest
The Purmerbos in Purmerend is perhaps one of North Holland's 'youngest' forests. Among the young poplars, ash, oak and beech trees, there is plenty to do. Take a lovely walk on the winding forest paths, visit the dog walking area with your four-legged friend or take the children to the Play Forest.
