4. The Gnome trail

Visiting the gnomes!

The rumours have been going around for years, but no one has ever seen them: the gnomes in the Purmerbos and Beemster Arboretum! Go out as a real gnome with pointed hat and gnome pin and look for all the other gnomes. Keep your eyes peeled, because gnomes only leave very small gnome tracks, such as tiny footprints, wheel tracks and gnome droppings. And psst... also look very quietly into a hollow tree or the little holes in the ground. With a bit of luck, the gnome family will be home and you will be invited for a glass of lemonade and a gnome biscuit!

The gnome trail (+/- 1 kilometre) in the Purmer forest is a true adventure for children aged 3 to 7 with all kinds of fun gnome tasks. At the VVV | Museumwinkel in Purmerend, you can get a pointed hat and a route and assignment map for only € 6.50. Every additional child in the family will also receive a pointed hat for € 1.50. Will you, a real gnome tracker, manage to complete all the assignments and be named 'Gnome tracker of the day'?

The gnome trail in the Beemster is also quite an experience for the little ones, as you will find many cute gnomes in the Arboretum and on Fridays and Saturdays you can pick up a booklet with fun assignments and a knapsack from the tea garden for only €4.50 per child. When will you visit the gnomes?
