Beemster cheese, from the famous Beemster polder, is loved worldwide for its unique taste and high quality. Besides the classic Beemster cheese, the Beemster offers a range of delicious cheeses, all prepared with craftsmanship and tradition. The cheeses are made from milk from cows that graze on the fertile, salty grassland, which ensures a rich and creamy taste. Available in several varieties, from mild young cheese to intense extra-matured, these cheeses are a true delight for any lover. Every bite is a tribute to the historic polder where these masterpieces come from.

Corn mill The Nightingale

After the reclamation of De Beemster in 1612, the plan was to build five corn mills, but only one was eventually realised: The Nightingale. You can taste the grain processed in this historic mill at home in the form of delicious flour products. The mill shop sells various types of flour, such as wheat flour, semolina and spelt flour, as well as baking mixes for apple cake, spice cake and pancakes.
