1. The Play Stall

Discover De Speelkraam, the town playground of Purmerend! This lively playground offers a wide range of wooden play equipment for children of all ages. While little ones have fun in the front section, older children can have fun on the more challenging equipment further back. De Speelkraam also offers an inclusive play area, with specially designed play equipment for children with disabilities. And as if that wasn't enough, De Speelkraam also offers water fun!

Besides free play, fun activities are organised regularly, such as egg hunts at Easter and the popular Halloween party. From April to October, the volunteers open the playground's doors and you can drop by to experience unforgettable adventures!

2. Spurd-Leeghwaterbad

From recreational to lane swimming

The Leeghwaterbad in Purmerend is a versatile pool complex offering a wide range of facilities for both relaxation and sporting activities. The complex comprises several pools, including a large leisure pool for families and children to swim freely and enjoy water activities. Besides the leisure pool, there are dedicated pools for swimming lessons, aquarobics and various group classes, making the Leeghwaterbad a centre for both sports and relaxation.

When the weather is nice, you will find an extensive playing field outside with an outdoor pool and a paddling pool, where the little ones can play safely and enjoy themselves. Whether you want to swim, play in and with water, work on your fitness or just relax on the playing field, the Leeghwaterbad offers something for everyone!

3. Skatepark Purmerend

Challenge yourself and try challenging tricks

Discover the excitement and sensation of Skatepark Purmerend, hidden among the greenery of the Leeghwaterpark. Here you will find the perfect setting to test your skateboarding or BMX skills with challenging tricks. Following feedback from young people, the park was expanded in 2014, with the aim of offering more challenge. Now it is a true playground for skaters of all levels, where you can both improve your own skills and admire others as they perform their stunts. Come along and get carried away by the energetic atmosphere of Skatepark Purmerend!

4. Children's farm the Knight

Ponies, chickens, rabbits and sheep

In a beautiful old North-Holland farmhouse, dating from 1897, you will find De Ridder petting zoo. The petting zoo is home to ponies, chickens, rabbits and sheep. Children can ride as farmers on cool children's tractors and almost all animals can be stroked. In spring, cute little lights hop around and in the meadow you can have a nice walk among the goats. In the orchard, you will find beautiful old fruit trees which the farm animals love to feast on.

Inside, you will find an educational area where demonstrations, lectures and small exhibitions are organised. Here you will learn all kinds of fun facts about the animals at the petting zoo!
