Your canoe trip starts in Broek in Waterland. Cruising along the ring canal, you have a good view of the Belmermeer polder, which is a good three metres later that the ring canal.

With its numerous, quiet ditches and elongated peat lakes, Waterland East is an ideal area for endless canoeing. Paddle past flower-rich riparian areas and wide reed beds where typical reed birds such as the reed warbler, the small and the great caracolite can be heard loudly.

Along the way, you will encounter the lovely villages of Holysloot and Zuiderwoude. From the water, you have a beautiful view of the many colourful wooden houses with their Waterland colours. But watch out for the wooden bridges and don't forget to duck.
Tip: Bring a picnic basket. Along the route, you will come across jetties where you can stop and have a picnic.
