With archaeological finds and surprising presentations, Archaeological Mini Museum De Waterwolf tells the story of the drowned village of Etersheim, the struggle against the sea and the formation of the landscape.
In the mini museum, you will come across all kinds of archaeological finds, from everyday items like a shoe, a jar and building materials to unusual objects like coins. You will also learn more about Etersheim's legendary gold treasure and the sarcophagus unearthed off the coast in 2009.
The museum has a number of interactive presentations. With a virtual drill you can 'go into the soil' yourself, going back in time some 1,000 years. There are also showcases with augmented reality: there you will discover more about finds than can be seen at first sight.
The floor of the museum can be rented for meetings. You sit there at exactly NAP level with a unique view of polder and dike.
