The story of Bartels Flowers:
Over twenty-five years ago, Maico Bartels laid the foundations of the company as an apprentice flower arranger. On weekends, he worked from "grandpa Garms'" barn in Noordbeemster as a flower peddler in that region.
After completing his education and fulfilling his military service, Maico did not immediately go to work full-time for himself. He decided to gain experience as an employee first and was employed by a flower shop and two growers of Alstroemerias, among others. In addition, he continued to build his own business, until these activities could no longer be combined and he resigned from his then employer.
Grandpa Garms' barn became too small for the growing business and some 20 years ago Maico established his business in a spacious building on Bamestraweg in Middenbeemster. Together with his wife Monique, he runs Bartels Flowers with great enthusiasm.
