Be amazed by the variety of sculptures, special objects, buildings and other works of art. The artworks on the routes give you information about the artist and inspiration of their work.

Art in the city centre
In Purmerend, you will find no fewer than 60 works by renowned artists in public spaces. This walk takes you through Purmerend's town centre and past 17 beautiful works of art. The route starts at the Purmerends Museum and is not (yet) signposted.

The Art on the map walking route through De Beemster takes you along 16 artworks in total. The route starts at Bezoekerscentrum De Beemster and tells you more about the special works of art found around the old town hall of De Beemster.

The Kunst op de Kaart cycle route takes you from Koemarkt via Gors-Noord and Leeghwaterpark to the most recent new housing estate Weidevenne and back to the city centre. The route introduces you to sculptures, art in bicycle tunnels, unusual buildings and other works of art in the city.

Purmerend

The Beemster
Get to know this extraordinary polder some 3.5 metres below sea level. De Beemster is best known for its UNESCO World Heritage status and its delicious local produce, but this area has much more to offer. Follow the unusual geometric pattern on foot or by bike.
