Unique polder landscape
The name kind of gives it away, centuries ago the Zeevang was caught by the sea. Around the 13th century, the area was reclaimed, creating a delightful lowland stretching north of Edam.
The Polder Zeevang is an open and watery peat meadow landscape. A Natura 2000 area, it offers peace and space next to the hustle and bustle of Edam and Volendam. Here, people, animals and (meadow) birds enjoy themselves.
All sorts of things to do!
Cycling, hiking, bird watching, swimming in the lake, visiting Dik Trom's school, checking out mini archaeological museum De Waterwolf or enjoying fresh apple pie overlooking the polder, the Zeevang is a North Holland paradise.
A paradise for birds
Zeevang is home to many meadow birds such as the black-tailed godwit, widgeons, lapwings, golden plovers and kola geese. The place to be for true birdwatchers! At the bird-watching point, you can enjoy the most beautiful birds in all seasons in peace and quiet.
