North-Hollandpad | Stage 11
The North-Holland path is 284 km long and is divided into 16 stages. Stage 11 takes you from Akersloot to Krommenie through one of the most bird-rich parts of North Holland. In short, the perfect walking route for bird lovers.
Again, a relatively short stage (15KM), but a must for bird lovers. It goes right through one of the most bird-rich parts of North Holland. The puddles along the route are often crowded and sometimes thousands of widgeons fly over in winter. Take your time to spot and enjoy the meadow birds at your leisure, because even if you are not here for the birds, this is a pleasant walk. Along the way, you'll also pass Fort Krommeniedijk, one of the 42 forts of the Defence Line of Amsterdam. It is now called Belevingscentrum Fort K'IJK and has a cosy tearoom for a stopover. During the breeding season, part of the stage is closed to hikers. Alternative routes are listed in the route descriptions.

Extra fun!
From 10 April, after hiking one of the 16 stages of the Noord-Hollandpad, it will be possible to digitally stamp your trek on your online stamp card. This makes it easy to keep track of which parts of the path you have already walked and how you are progressing on the route through North Holland.
