Eilandspolder route

If you don't want to miss anything in the Eilandspolder, this is the route to sail. From the water, you can't stop looking. In the middle of Unesco World Heritage Sites, you sail past vistas of the unique landscape past reed beds where animals build their nests. The livestock animals suddenly seem very big and close. The cows are extremely curious as you sail past. You pass beautiful monumental villages such as Graft and De Rijp, and on the way you can step ashore at many tourist attractions. You can visit the working museum windmill Schermerhorn or opt for the Nic Jonk sculpture garden. If you are more into peace, quiet and nature, stop by the Owl Forest which gives both a beautiful view of the moorland.

There are many different pick-up locations and points for hire on the route. If you want to start in de Rijp there is Boat Rental 't Ouweland or Boat Rental De Gouw and in Driehuizen there is the Friendship with rentals. Do you have your own canoe? There are also several canoe transfer points marked on the map of the Vaarnetwerk Eilandspolder for canoes and whisper boats.

The blue route is signposted with poles in the water. The selection points system also makes it easy to switch to another colour route. This route can be shortened at several points by following the grey arrow, and it is also possible to start the route at a canoe transfer point.
