The red canoe route takes you through the Zeevang wetland polder.
The Zeevang was a navigable polder, where farmer and cows could only reach the grassland by boat. Today, farmers can reach their land by driving and do their work with machines, but some farmers still take the boat every day to reach their cattle.
The red route passes through farm ditches and between pastures with cows. The open grasslands on which the cattle graze attract many meadow birds. Your challenge is to spot as many different species as possible!
On the way, follow the red poles that stand out clearly against the blue water and green meadows of Zeevang. You can rent your boat at Boerderij Wennekers in Hobrede or at farm campsite Weidevogelzicht in Kwadijk.
