The resistance monument in Middenbeemster was erected in memory of 11 local resistance fighters who lost their lives in the fight for peace and freedom during World War II.
The names of the 11 resistance fighters who died are: Cornelis ten Hoope, Nicolaas Jonk, Jan Ruijter, Joris Ruijter, Jan Prins, Arie Prins, Ben Hollander, Gerrit Hoogstraaten, Jaap Groot jzn., Elias Doets and Koen Rozendaal.
