The dike between Hoorn and Amsterdam looks peaceful. But it has been through a lot over the centuries. And yes, he likes to tell about it.
In Kijk Luister Dijk, the dike takes you into its world via 14 different locations along the Markermeer. With at each location a different short story about living with the water, told by a quirky dike who has seen it all before.
Location: At the beginning of the Noordeinde, at Wullempje beach, next to Hotel Spaanders in Volendam.
Episode 8 - The Mystery of Eel
Do you love fish too? Or better still, eel? Oh I love those creatures so much. Not to eat though, as a dyke I have been a vegetarian for centuries. But since the construction of the Afsluitdijk, the eel is one of the few fish I still see here. Volendam's most famous fish, shrouded in mystery.
