In the 1960s, the Beemster had a thriving horticultural scene, especially in the Zuidoostbeemster. Numerous gardeners were active in growing vegetable varieties, both outdoors and under so-called flat glass.
Today, Bakker Seeds is one of the few companies continuing the horticultural tradition in Beemster. They have specialised in growing the very best tomato, pepper and cucumber seeds. Feel free to drop by their cosy roadside stall and discover their delicious, fresh tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers!
