IJsclub Bamestra has been the ice club of Middenbeemster for over 100 years. Every year in early October, the ice club starts skating lessons for young people at the artificial ice rink de Meent in Alkmaar. With great pleasure, the skating instructors teach the

Ice rink Bamestra:
IJsclub Bamestra's ice rink is 80 metres long and 150 metres wide. Every year, about 25 cm of water is pumped onto the rink from the beginning of December. This water level is automatically kept at height by a VOPO pump. As soon as the ice allows, the ice club's volunteers set out an oval track about 350 metres long with several lane sections for the youth in the middle area.
