Monnickendam Fishing Days Foundation
The Monnickendam Fishing Days give a glimpse into the Monnickendam of yesteryear. During the holiday period, on four Fridays, fish smoking will be demonstrated by a number of smokers at a spot outside along the historic inner harbour.
In addition to fish smoking, other crafts related to fish smoking (such as net mending and basket making) will be demonstrated around the harbour. Information boards, enlarged photos and video material will provide visitors with information about fish-smoking and the history of Monnickendam. Local actors perform acts revolving around the fish trade and processing.
