Marianne Eekhof is a beekeeper and the face behind Beemster Honingzoet.

Honey:
Twice a year, Marianne sells the tastiest honey in her stall by the front door. From mid-June, her stall is filled with delicious spring honey and cream honey (spreadable (spring) honey) and from mid-August you will find summer honey.

Beeswax products:
Bees, of course, not only make honey, but bees also make wax. Bees use wax to build their combs. In these combs, the queen lays her eggs and the bees store their food (honey and pollen) in them.

Beeswax is a very special product and can be stored for years. Fun fact: even science has not yet succeeded in imitating beeswax. As soon as people think of beeswax, they often think of candles. But did you know that beeswax is also widely used in ointments, cosmetics, liquorice polish and many other products?

Beekeeper Marianne uses her beeswax in many different products, such as lip balm, salves, wax wipes (to store food), soap, hair wax and beard balm. You can also buy these products from Marianne in her stall. Would you like to buy pure beeswax? For this, please contact Marianne by e-mail.

Bird cakes:
Another of Marianne's hobbies is making bird cakes and pastries. It is a fun pastime for her in winter when the bees are quiet. From early November, these colourful bird cakes will be for sale at the stall in her yard. Very nice to give as gifts or, of course, just for yourself.

Lectures and courses:
Like Marianne, are you enthusiastic about bees? Then you can also come to Marianne for a 'Basic course in beekeeping'. She teaches this course according to NBV (Dutch Beekeeping Association) guidelines. For more information on this basic course, please visit the Beemster Beekeeping Association website or send her an e-mail.

Marianne also gives interesting and fun lectures for associations and groups on the life of the honeybee. The lecture lasts more than an hour, followed by time for questions. During such a lecture, you really get to know everything about the honeybee. Contact her for more information.
