In quiet surroundings yet in the centre of town, the Watersportvereniging Purmerend manages 75 permanent moorings and 25 transient moorings along the banks of river De Where and 50 beautiful transient moorings along the Noord-Hollands Kanaal.
Cruising the North Holland Canal from the direction of Amsterdam, you will reach the port after passing the Purmerend lock and the Beemster bridge. From the direction of Edam and Monnickendam, you pass three bridges. You can find the operating times of the bridges here.
There are various facilities on the quay, including electricity points, a fixed water tap, well-maintained showers and toilets and the brand-new harbour office. Passers-by with a berth on the Beemsterburgwal and the Noord-Hollands Kanaal can also use these. The toilets and showers are open daily from 07:00 to 23:00.
Purmerend is in the middle of the beautiful area Laag Holland and has an awful lot to offer. Lots of beautiful sailing routes, but you can also enjoy walking and cycling.
