Observatory Vesta
Vesta makes astronomy and the universe accessible to everyone. Young and old can participate in interactive presentations and other activities.
In addition to sharing knowledge, at Vesta you can look at the stars and planets, learn how to handle the telescope and learn how to take pictures of them. Whether it is a first introduction to the universe, space travel or if you want to learn more about the science behind it, Vesta is the place for everyone. The observatory is located in Oostzaan less than five minutes away from the Coentunnel.

The annual programme
Programming for Vesta usually takes place on a Friday evening. Within the programme there are different sections and activities for young and old. Once a month there is a full-length Vesta programme and several other evenings are organised. The Weather and Astronomy Circle Zaanstreek (WSKZ) also organises a lecture on location at Vesta every month on a Thursday evening. The programme will expand over time, so keep an eye on this website for further announcements. View the full programme.
