Useful to know

Good preparation is half the battle! Before heading out on the water, it is useful to prepare yourself.
Below you will find all the information on boat hire, routes, public moorings and marinas.

Rental

Hire a whisper boat and go exploring! The whisper boats have an electric motor and travel at about 6 to 7 kilometres per hour. They are easy to operate, make little noise and do not require a boating licence. Or rent a canoe or kayak. The old peat landscape is perfect for long trips with its endless network of narrow ditches. Fancy a challenge? Then a SUP board is just the thing for you. Try to keep your balance while enjoying all the splendour around you.

Mooring ropes

Many moorings along the waterfront have a sign saying 'no mooring' or 'private jetty'. Public moorings are often not or difficult to recognise. In the Land of Leeghwater, however, there are several public moorings that are clearly recognisable by the blue and white signs with 'landvast' on them. Moor your boat here to enjoy a picnic or to further explore the Land of Leeghwater!
