But to admire Anton Heyboer's work, you don't have to travel far. You will find the Anton Heyboer Gallery in Den Ilp. 2. MonetAtelier

25 replicas by renowned Zaan artists

In 1871, French impressionist Claude Monet visited the Zaan region. Due to great poverty in the 19th century, many merchant houses from the 17th and 18th centuries had been forced to remain inhabited and thus preserved. As a result, the French impressionist was so impressed by the picturesque Zaan region that he produced no fewer than 25 paintings and nine sketches here.

At the MonetAtelier in Zaandam, you will find no fewer than 25 replicas of Monet's paintings made by various (renowned) Zaanish artists. The collection of paintings offers a unique glimpse of Monet's work and at the same time an impression of Zaandam in 1871. Want to admire a real Monet? Then visit the Zaans Museum.
