Two men playing music

Frank Cools & Florian de Schepper previously performed at Podium onder de Toren. On that occasion, they presented the unrivalled ‘Aznavour’, a tribute to Charles Aznavour.

Now it’s Gilbert Bécaud’s turn. In 2026, it will be 25 years since the French global superstar Gilbert Bécaud passed away. A good reason to celebrate his chansons! They are so rich, so powerful, so timeless.

Nathalie; of course! Et maintenant; but yessssssss! ‘L’important c’est la rose’, ‘C’est en septembre’, ‘Je reviens te chercher’… Bécaud, ‘Monsieur 100,000 Volts’, sang these songs with boundless energy. His passion for women, cigarettes and whisky was legendary.

Frans Cools, from Flanders, is an actor and singer. He knows better than anyone how to captivate his audience with his singing and storytelling. Florian de Schepper is a classical guitarist and troubadour who plays a variety of styles. Together, they present Bécaud’s chansons in their purest form: with just a voice and a guitar.
