''Interrupted time'' tells the story of the consequences of the New Year fire in 't Hemeltje in Volendam.

Affected people and relatives want to mark and preserve this period with this heritage project, which consists of a temporary exhibition and a permanent multimedia display in the museum.

This exhibition focuses on people who were between 13 and 25 years old in 2001. Their stories show how deeply the fire touched their lives, but also how resilience and solidarity of the Volendam community contributed to recovery and hope.

The personal stories are at the heart of the exhibition, which has a broader meaning besides local involvement: because themes such as loss, togetherness and strength are universal.
