BoerenNatuur Summer Weeks | Walking routes

At various locations throughout the Netherlands, the 39 agricultural collectives of BoerenNatuur Nederland demonstrate what agricultural nature management entails and how the member farmers work to combine agriculture and nature. How do they create the ideal habitat for meadow birds, and what exactly are herb-rich grasslands and ‘plaspas’? Follow one of the two walking routes through the farmland and read and see how they do this in your local area. You can choose between a short walking route of 6 km or a long walking route of 12 km. Along the way, you’ll experience how agriculture, nature and water management have been intertwined here for centuries. With a bit of luck, you’ll spot meadow birds such as the black-tailed godwit, lapwing or redshank, see cows in the meadow and discover how farmers contribute to a landscape that’s attractive to both people and nature.
