Ferhat Kaplan strips away the façade of privilege, until only humanity remains Two former lovers meet again after a long time by the edge of the swimming pool. In the languid heat of the day and under the influence of drugs, a revealing confrontation unfolds.

They return to their youth, to a shared secret that, thanks to their fathers’ power and influence, had always been kept hidden. As the day progresses, fewer and fewer things stand between them and the truth.

In *Incomprehensibly Rich*, Ferhat Kaplan explores both the alluring glamour and the dark underbelly of privilege. But above all, he seeks the common ground between rich and poor: our vulnerable, sometimes uncomfortable, humanity.

Kaplan draws on his own experiences: he has been both rich and poor, and it was precisely the psychology involved in that – the way the world treats you differently – that inspired him to write this piece.
