Sing, dance and wave along during the Sinterklaas parade in Monnickendam! Welcome Sinterklaas and his helpers to the Binnenhaven and follow the festive procession through the town.
On Saturday 14 November, Sinterklaas will arrive in Monnickendam. From 1.15 pm, you can join in singing Sinterklaas songs around the Binnenhaven, accompanied by the band Olympia / Con Brio.
Sinterklaas is expected to come ashore at around 2.00 pm. Together with his Pieten, he will be welcomed by Mrs Anna and Mayor Marian van der Weele. With various boats, dancing Pieten and cheerful music, it promises to be a festive arrival. There will also be helpers handing out gluten-free sweets.
After the welcome, St Nicholas will take the time to greet the children. This will be followed by a procession along the ‘ Middendam ’, the ‘Zuideinde’, the ‘Niesenoortsburgwal’, the ‘Weezeland’ and the ‘Rozendaalstraat’ to the ‘Zarken’. Feel free to join in the walk or find a spot along the route!

Afterwards, there will be a performance in the Grote Kerk for children from Monnickendam in Years 1 to 4. They will receive their tickets via school. Doors open at 3.00 pm and the performance starts at 3.15 pm. Does your child live in Monnickendam but go to school elsewhere? If so, please contact the organisers.
