Official opening | Volendammerdagen
De Volendammerdagen starten zaterdag 27 juni feestelijk bij St. Vincentiuskerk met een officiële opening.
Let op! gewijzige locatie, het openingsprogramma vindt platts in de St. Vinncentiuskerk na het klederdracht programma van Stichting Volledammergoed.
Bij het openingsprogramma kun je dit jaar weer genieten van talentvolle Volendammers.

It has been some time now since I (Jaap) had the opportunity to sing the now legendary song "Mooi Volendam" with the band Canyon. A song that still has a special place in my heart and is still alive and well with many in our village.
This year, on Saturday 27 June, I get to open the Volendammerdagen, together with poet Sijmen Tol. This will be followed by a beautiful seated concert by Fanfare Wilhelmina Volendam. In the process, I may sing "Mooi Volendam" again myself. That feels like a great honour to me!

I am and will remain a proud archetypal Volendammer. Proud of our village, its people and our culture, which is so rich and unique. That is why I find it extra beautiful that the Volendam Days have come back to life so much in recent years. Two days long
(27 and 28 June), there will be a special programme full of music, tradition and get-togethers at various locations in the village.
Keeping our culture, music and traditional costumes alive like this is something to be proud of. I therefore hope that everyone will come to see and, above all, enjoy everything there is to experience.

Poet Sijmen Tol writes beautiful poems in Volendam. During the official opening, he will recite one of his poems about Volendam music culture, 'Wie 'n stem et, lâit 'm ore'.
- 12:15 Fanfare Wilhelmina Volendam
The Volendammerdagen are the moment of the year for Fanfare Wilhelmina Volendam to make themselves heard in their own village. They will proudly perform a seated concert during the opening programme.
At 13:30, the impressive presentation of costumes will start, with groups from all over the Netherlands. It is also possible to admire the groups earlier during the parade. Read more about the parade of the costume groups here.
