The official English-language magazine of I amsterdam provides visitors with background information on the best sights and events, plus excellent suggestions for discovering lesser-known places in Amsterdam and the surrounding area. Our region is also nicely presented in it.

Reisbeesten
May 2025
In cooperation with amsterdam&partners, Reisbeesten went on the road in Amsterdam's backyard. They visited Zaandam, the Zaanstreek and Laag Holland & Waterland, among other places. In our region, they experienced the Beemster, climbed the Keyserkerk and went canoeing at sunset. But they visited much more. Curious about their experiences?

Tutto il Mondo è Paese
May 2025
During a press trip in cooperation with amsterdam&partners, Tutto il Mondo è Paese visited Laag Holland and the Zaanstreek, among other places. On this combined trip, she and other bloggers visited such places as Boutique Hotel BRASA Beemster, the Koemarkt, Fruitteeltbedrijf Kuijk and Fort near Spijkerboor. Destination Explorer went on a 3-day press trip in collaboration with amsterdam&partnes in Laag Holland and discovered several unique spots.

Leeghwater glossy
April 2025
This year was the 450th anniversary of Jan Adriaenszn Leeghwater's birth in De Rijp. As part of this anniversary, a glossy was developed: Leeghwater. A magazine that puts the mill builder and hydraulic engineer in the limelight. From Bureau Toerisme Laag Holland, we also contributed to this in the form of an article on the Old Dutch Ferry Route.

The NS Dagje Uit magazine is the transport company's physical and online magazine with an average of 1.5 million readers. Commissioned by Recreatie Noord-Holland, we were allowed to develop a campaign page for the promotion of 3 routes from Buitenpoorten (NS stations) in the region.

This edition of R&T magazine, a magazine for professionals in the hospitality sector, featured a great article. In the article, our director Shirley Benoit gives her views on DMOs' contribution to the transition of rural areas.

Editor Elena Ortega of Spanish magazine '¡Hola! Viajes' discovered Laag Holland by bike at the end of March 2022 and fell in love with the watery environment with its charm and many windmills. About this, she wrote a beautiful 4-page report on Marken, Volendam and Etersheim for the summer edition of the magazine.

In Eigen Land is a special issue of Columbus Travel in cooperation with Roots and FietsActief. A magazine with 148 pages of Dutch travel inspiration. The Purmer forest is included in this first publication of 2022 as one of the most beautiful places to walk.

Bucket list Eropuit in the Netherlands
Marleen Brekelmans of Bijzonder Plekje released her new book 'Bucketlist Eropuit in Nederland' this spring. The book is full of great tips in the Netherlands, including 10 tips in the Laag Holland region.

In cooperation with FietsActief, we published the FietsActief Regio Special. This special was distributed among the subscribers to FietsActief and sold in shops together with the magazine.

In an edition of 'Vriendin' magazine, two spreads were devoted to beautiful spots, fun routes and special activities in Laag Holland. A fine example of free publicity.

Landleven released the special 'Landleven Cycling Routes', and the region Laag Holland was included in this magazine with three spreads under the headings 'National Landscape of Laag Holland', 'The Land of Leeghwater' and 'Along the Old Zuiderzee'.

Columbus Travel
March 2021
Columbus Travel wrote a nice article about the 9 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the Netherlands. At number 5 and 6, the Beemster and the Stelling van Amsterdam (partly) located in Laag Holland are mentioned. A nice example of free publicity.

In May 2021, the May-September edition of the Recreatiekrant Noord-Holland came out packed with inspiration and events in Noord-Holland. This also featured Laag Holland. Once again, this is a great example of Free Publicity.

ANWB
In 2020, the ANWB held an election around the most beautiful village in the Netherlands. Fifty beautiful villages were selected and bundled in the book 'The most beautiful villages of the Netherlands'. Laag Holland is well represented in this with Broek in Waterland, De Rijp and Middenbeemster.
