D' Swarte Walvis
Anyone who visits the Zaanse Schans or takes a cruise on the Zaan will know D'Swarte Walvis. In a monumental building in the middle of the Zaanse Schans, it offers an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy delicious food.
The three buildings that house D'Swarte Walvis tell a lot about the rich Zaan history. The kitchen is part of a Merchant's House. The restaurant, brasserie, Regentenkamer and upstairs room are located in a former Orphanage. And in the replica of a Vleethuis (warehouse for whalers), the bar and Commander's Room have been realised.
