Julianastraat 9 – Timber-framed house

This wooden villa was built in 1920 by F. Abel for a Mr. D. Kooiman, the then mayor of Purmerend. The building stands on its own on a lot on the Julianastraat and is a so-called Block house, that at that time were delivered as a construction package. The villa is of general interest from an architectural point of view, because of the unusual construction method in timber that has been preserved in pristine condition.

Furthermore, the villa is of general interest from a cultural-historical point of view, as an example of the history of living.
