"De Lepelaar” farm

A fine example of an old stolp farm dating from 1683. There is a beautiful facade with upper room. Beneath the upper room there was a milk cellar for cheese-making. Two plaques, one with a spoonbill, the other with 1683 and other ornamentation, decorate the facade.

At Lepelaar farm the mid-section of the brick living area has a shoulder gable with vases and a crowned pediment. In the upper room there is a tiled wall and images of angels and ploughing farmers painted on the woodwork.   

At the time, the farm was built on the orders of the Mayor of Jisp. As an independent municipality, Jisp
