Three highlights in Oosthuizen
Contact
Sculptor Doris Pappenheim, photographer Marco Bakker and artist Gigja Reynisdottir are exhibiting at the Grote Kerk from 2 to 23 August.
Pappenheim and Bakker are from Edam, whilst Reynisdottir is originally from Iceland. Pappenheim’s sculptures are made of marble and often depict female forms. She lives and works for part of the year in the vicinity of the Carrara marble quarries. Marco Bakker is a freelance photographer who works for publications including the Noordhollands Dagblad. For him, photography is an excuse to meet people. In her work, Reynisdottir focuses on the relationship between people, nature and society, which she shapes through the use of natural materials. On 11 August at 2.00 pm, she will be giving a workshop at the Grote Kerk in Oosthuizen as part of the ‘Zomerkriebels’ programme.
Cost: €7.50, including coffee or tea.
