De Navertellers | Is there life after death?

Eddie, Kees, Paul, Rob, Terts and Toon have found each other as seasoned gate-stormers. Anyone can die, but to return to Earth after your death and create a cracking music programme about it – well, you’ve got to be a ‘Naverteller’ for that.

It smacks of Werkteater, Parade, Drs P, NUHR, Peter Faber, Theatergroep Flint, Orkater, Frank Groothoff, Bram Vermeulen, the Bayou Mosquitos, Sissies and Spetters. No wonder – that’s where they come from.

After fifty years, they’ve found each other in this unique combination. Every single one of them knows the Grim Reaper first-hand. They’ve conquered him, they’ve come to love him, and they’ve developed a pleasantly anecdotal approach to death as a result.

The Navertellers will go on forever because they’ve agreed amongst themselves that when a member of the troupe passes away, they’ll be succeeded by a new member. Rob Boonzajer Flaes has passed away, but remains part of the show. He is succeeded by Thijs van der Poll. This musician and actor from Hauser Orkater, who was able to produce a 260-page medical file, was hired on the spot.
