Exhibition | Art as a common thread

Piep van Sante and Inge Bečka are exhibiting their paintings and porcelain in the cemetery chapel.

The exhibition will be officially opened by Liesbeth Molenaar, a close friend of both artists, former gallery owner of Galerie De Groene Poort in Middenbeemster and also curator of the exhibition.

‘What Connects Us’ is the title of this stylish exhibition. Piep, Inge and Liesbeth describe what connects them as follows: “In 2010, we were asked to judge the photography competition to mark the 10th anniversary of Beemster’s designation as a World Heritage Site. We barely knew each other, but looking – that’s something all three of us were good at. We had a special connection.”

Sixteen years on, they look back on their special bond: “Back then, we were a budding artist, a gallery owner and a graphic designer. Many dinners, ups and downs, and exhibitions later, here we are: two established artists and an art lover/occasional curator, close friends, with art as our common thread.”
