Piano Walk Edam 2026
On Sunday 31 May, dozens of pianists will again have the opportunity to present themselves to the thousands of visitors who flock to the characteristic historic centre of Edam every year.
During the annual PianoWalk at 20 special locations in Edam, visitors can enjoy piano music free of charge. In churches, shops and living rooms of old (canal-side) buildings, a selection of musicians will perform their favourite (piano) pieces. From soloists and duos to complete orchestras or bands. One thing is certain: all the musicians are of an exceptionally high standard. Experience shows that some will later be seen on the major (inter)national stages.
Special to this edition are the master classes given in De Swaen on the Voorhaven to three young pianists by Frans Peters, principal study teacher at the Amsterdam Conservatory.

Edam, a monumental town with a rich past, is all about keys and music in general on Sunday 31 May. The walk is actually a little peek at the neighbours: strolling through the picturesque town, you can take a free look at 20 monumental buildings: residential houses, shops and churches. At those locations, 100 musicians will play a wide variety of music. The Grote Kerk will traditionally host an impressive closing concert at the end of the piano event.
The lovingly restored houses along the hushed canals, narrow streets, bridges and a single square reflect the atmosphere and life in a small Dutch town centuries ago.
