Kaaskop & van Vleuten - Fragile People

In a striking new theatrical musical journey, striking voices from Dutch culture unite once again: theatre-maker, writer and musician Diederik van Vleuten and drummer/producer Lucas van Merwijk, together with the trio Kaaskop, present the performance Breekbare Mensen (Breakable People). Dutch song, just different, enriched with personal stories, absurd anecdotes, historical backgrounds and surprising insights.

In the 1990s, Diederik van Vleuten and Lucas van Merwijk were musically linked by Jeroen van Merwijk. They were a regular core of the Podiumband in the radio programme Podium, along with guitarist Ed Verhoeff and bassist Boudewijn Lucas.

Thirty years later, Van Vleuten has become a celebrated theatre maker, perceptive writer and beloved television presenter. Drummer Lucas van Merwijk, meanwhile, has created a worldwide furore with numerous productions of his own. In 2022, the original band reunited again as a trio: Kaaskop. Under that name, they have since performed their quirky, musical interpretations of Dutch musical heritage. Now they are once again adding Diederik van Vleuten to the company. What exactly will the repertoire consist of? That remains a closely guarded secret for now. But one thing is certain: without a musical tribute to brother Jeroen van Merwijk, this performance would not be complete.
