On 28 March and 24 April 2026, the Zaans Museum, in collaboration with the Kalverpolder Foundation, is organising a special evening boat trip through the Kalverpolder, an ancient cultural landscape. Discover life in the polder during dusk and the first hours of the night.

From the boarding point next to the museum, you will sail into the polder in the dark together with a guide and skipper. On the way, you will discover the historical character of the area: the medieval ditches, the 17th-century mills and the landscape that has remained largely unchanged. With no modern lighting, only oil lamps, you experience how special and beautiful the evening can be. Not only during the day, but also at night, the polder bustles with life.
