Japan Style: Experience Japan in Purmerend

A group of nine artists work and exhibit in the beautiful, light-filled space of the Kunsthuis. They are all inspired by the mysterious land of the rising sun: one by the beauty of the country, another by Japanese art or a Japanese technique.

At the heart of the exhibition are the photographs by Rob de Heer, which he took in 1989 during a three-month trip through Japan. Joining him in the exhibition are artists Dennis A-Tjak, Marion Karremans-Burger, Astrid Lagerburg, Bertina van Leen, Sharma Peterson, Ingrid Schipper, Rodi Vroom and Nynke van Zwol, who are showcasing their work in the Japanese style.

Throughout the month, a range of enjoyable activities will be organised, including workshops, music and demonstrations. You can register via the website.

In August, visitors will be immersed in a Japanese atmosphere thanks to soft music, lanterns, a collection of authentic Japanese artefacts, tea and, above all, beautiful Japanese art. Come and see for yourself – experience Japan in Purmerend!
