A visit to the Palingsoundmuseum (Eel Sound Museum) in Volendam will make the day complete. In the adjoining restaurant you can enjoy a nice bread roll with smoked eel, a true delicacy.

On a silent, electric scooter you will ride through the beautiful landscape of Laag Holland and visit historic and picturesque villages and towns like Monnickendam, Edam, Volendam, and the former island of Marken. This package acquaints you with the multi-faceted district of Amsterdam-Noord (North Amsterdam). This part of the Dutch capital city has its own unique characteristics. To gain an impression of the rich history you will visit the local museum. Afterwards: it’s into the boat and onto the water! You will go on a splendid sailing trip on the IJ estuary near Durgerdam. You will stay overnight in Amsterdam-Noord in a cosy bed & breakfast.

This route takes you through the Beemster, the renowned 17th-century polder which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will walk along the ring dyke of the Beemster and along the meadow path through the Beeskoog polder. After lunch you will visit the Museummolen (a working windmill and museum) to gain an impression of how people lived and worked in a polder windmill in the Dutch Golden Age.
